If anyone has any information on any of these individuals I would greatly appreciate a reply.
My grandfather's name is Carl William Gribben he is the seventh of nine children by Elmer Aloysious Gribben and Louise Josephine Meisel(orMiesel or Muesel). Elmer was the oldest of John William Gribben and Lucy Sullivan's five living children. The last of those was named Forrest Albert Gribben who just passed away in Indianapolis last year--1999--at the age of 102. I have a little bit more on the Gribben side, but not much and would like to go back even farther. I am also interested in some other Gribben Aunts and Uncle that I may have out there somewhere. The story that my grandfather Carl William Gribben has told me is that he was married before he married to my grandmother Grace Colleen Miller. He doesn't recall the name of his first wife only that he was married while he was in the Navy and when he came home from shore leave to his wife and small children his daughter told him that he was not her father that her mother and father were in the house already. His recollection was that there was a son who died around a year old and atleast one daughter if not two. If you have any information please e-mail me @ T_lynn64@hotmail.com

Carl W Gribben was Married to Jean and had a daughter Sally Louise Gribben. They visited in Indianapolis many time whem I was growing up. My mother was his oldest sister, Maryn Agnes Gribben Manning. He had a son named Skipper, but I think he was Carl w. Gribben, Jr. and died when he was a year or more old and I believe he is burried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis. I remember them going to the funeral. I was born in 1934 and must have been 6-7 years old to remember this. After the divorce I believe Aunt Jean and Sally moved to Cape May, New Jersey. If Sally was his not his child she sure looked like a Gribben?? Somewhere on some old 8 mm films I have pictures of her.
I have a cousin Mary Margaret Gribben Jones who is bringing the Gribben history back to 1875 to me in the next few weeks. Keep in touch and I will send you what she has.

I have been researching my family tree and have gone back to Ireland 1760. I am stuck on dates around here and can go no further. I do not have any indication that your forebears are in my family line. My G-G-G-G Grandfather was James Gribben a Farrier and Horse Doctor in Drumbridge Co. Antrim. His son Andrew married a lady Ann Pitt and they sailed to Australia 1838. Sorry I can't help you with your request though if you can match up any information with my forebears I would be happy to give information to expand yours Denis Gribben Nelson New Zealand

I am a first cousin to Sally Louise Gribben, Sue Gribben and Carl William Gribben, Jr. known as "Skipper" who died in Indianapolis from pneumonia about 14 months old. I have his death certificate which I received from Ushers Funeral home some time ago. Is your grandmother named Jean? Uncle Carl was first married to a Jean ???. He then married Colleen and lived in Mineola, Texas for years prior to his death. I have a lot of info on the Gribben family up north-am currently in Florida for the winter. I have been searching for Sally Louise for a long time.
