Re: Grguric's from Gornji kosinj, Croatia
Jack, We may have a connection here although it will take more research to establish. I have researched LDS church records for Gornji Kosinj but they stop in the 1850's so one has to visit (or write to) the local priest. I know that there were only about 7-8 Grguric households in Gornji kosinj at about 1855 and I suspect most are probably related somehow. I'm willing to share whatever info I have with you.

I also have been researching my family. Our last name has been spelled a few different ways in Croatia. My family is from a village named Lokve. I would like to share any info with you, and also, see if you have anything that can help me.

Re: Grguric's from Gornji kosinj, Croatia
Gerry, The LDS records I have examined show the spelling of my surname as Gergurich in the village of Gornji Kosinj in the mid 1850's.It has obviously been truncated over the years. If you have yet to search the LDS records I suggest you do so. It is a common name and widely spread throughout Croatian. Andrew Grguric

I think you and my husband maybe related. His grandfatherc's name was Nicholas. He came from Kosinj, immigrated to West VA at first, He married Matilda Razich Plesha. They had two sons, Thomas and John. They moved to Illonios in the late 1910's where he died. He is buried in Centralia. His sister was ANNA and she married a Sporlovich and they moved to the UP of Michigan near Houghton to Painsdale or Dodgeville. Any relation?
