ALEXANDER WILLIAM GREIG, railroad superintendent and agent, born August 17, 1828 in Locke, Cayuga Co., New York, son of George Greig and Harriett Conklin. Died July 27, 1876 in Fort Dodge, Webster Co., Iowa. Married (1) Clarissa C. Page August 17, 1849, and (2) Melinda Grace George February 18, 1857. Children: (1) Charles David, born February 10, 1851, (2) Harriet Elizabeth (“Hattie”), born November 30, 1857, who married Dr. F. B. Olney, (3) Martha J. (“Mattie”), born c. 1861, who married John J. Rutka, (4) Carrie E., born May 18, 1866, who married Charles Craft, (5) Jessie Georgia (“Georgie”), born c. 1872; who married William A. Shepard.
