I very recently, thanks to Sheila, found information
which connects my Gifford family of Old Town, ME, to
the Greffards you mention. My 2nd gr-grandfather,
John V. Gifford, was the son of Francis and Margaret
----) Gifford of Old Town. I'm not sure if they are
the same as François and Marguerite (Dorion) Greffard
or if Francis was the son of François and Marguerite,
but I know the connection is there. Also, from the
1860 census, I know that John V. had a brother named
