I know this is old information, but I'd be interested in sharing any information on the Douglas family you might have. I also have John and Louisa in my family tree. According to the J. Lufkin Douglas genealogy (now available in Google books), they had 5 children, including Betsey. The 1860 census record shows 2 children at that date, neither of which matches the other 5. I couldn't find the family in the 1870 or 1880 census. In 1900, John and Louisa are in California.

John Braley Douglas was the brother of my great-great-grandmother, Emily Douglas.
