I am searching for a possible ancestor, who was taken from Pennsylvania about 1832, and sold into slavery in Louisiana. Her name was Charlotte Green. My understanding was that she, and her husband Charles were sold into slavery, and he was never heard from again. She was sold in Louisiana, and eventually purchased her freedom and married a Creole man.

The years would be from about 1832 - 1862. If she purchased her freedom there should be some written document.
