I am sorry to inform you that your John, b. 1774, is not a son of Daniel Greathouse, son of Harmon and Mary (Stull) Greathouse. I have proof that Daniel had only one child, who was named Gabriel Greathouse. This information comes from a law suit that Gabriel filed against his mother and step father. This states that he is the only child and gives his birth date and other information.

David Donsel Greathouse who died in 1986 in Reno, Nevada also is my father. Do you have any family tree information for me? I know nothing about his parents, especially his mother's side of the family. He died when I was a teenager so I remember very little of what he told me about his family. Did he have any siblings?

Hi Cindy, I believe I'm your half sister. Is your Mother RoseMary? If yes, you have 2 half sisters, myself and Linda. We both live in California. I have our Father's entire family history back to the 1600's. The Greathouse' migrated from Germany to Virginia/West Virginia in the 1600's. I will scan the documents on Monday and upload them as an attachment. Our Father was an only child.

Donna, Daniel Greathouse did not have any other children besides Gabriel, as Louise Johnson responded to you several years ago. Have you found any other possibilities for John 1774's father?
Also, Herman Groethausen (b. 1670) left Germany in 1709 and arrived in Pennsylvania (not Virginia) in 1710.
