Thomas Greathouse (b. 1821 KY - d. bef 1880 Wright Co, MO) was married to Sarah Ann Algood (obtained last name from a son's death certificate), and indeed had at least 8 children, including my ancestor William Michael Greathouse.

William Michael (b. 19 May 1853 Missouri - d. 6 Feb 1906 Johnson Co, Kansas) married Sarah Jane Johnson (b. abt. 1856 in Randolph Co., NC - d. 15 Mar 1938 St. Clair Co., MO). They had the following children: William H. b. 1876, Melissa J. b. 1878, Lula b. 1879, Elizabeth C. b. 1881, Rosa Minnie b. 1883, Sarah C. b. 1883, Frona Rebecca b. 1890, Nettie B. b. 1898, and the last three have unknown birthdates but are suspected to have died before 1900: Franklin, Ivy Mae, Laura. Following the death of William Michael, his widow Sarah married his brother Abraham Lincoln Greathouse who was a widower. Both Sarah and Abraham died in the late 1930s in St. Clair Co., MO.

William H. b. 1876 married Alice M. Stewart and their children were Harold R. b. 1898 and Myrtle b. 1919. Harold did marry Ozelma Tucker and had two children.
