Hello,
I have information of a Solomon Greathouse born in 1793, in Va, married to Catherine Little (who was born 1810) on June 10, 1821. Ohio's marraige index is where I got the wedding date, but she would have been 11. Hmmm. I wonder where we got messed up. Any ideas???

I have been researching Greathouse for my friend. Solomon Greathouses and Catherine Little this is as far back as I can get her grandfather was Marion Greathouse who lived in Brown County, Indiana. If you have any information about this Solomon I would appreciate it greatly.

St. Clairsville, Belmont Co. OH OCT 23 1804.

I have all the children but I can't find Solomon Greathouse parents. In the Ohio census all the children were named in
1850. It looks to me that they were married in 183I rather then 1821 because the first child John was 20 years old in the 1850 census. If you look on the 1850 Ohio census it listed Catherine as being 40 years old and the first son was 20 years old. Solomon was a farmer and was 47 years old born in Va. I'm going downtown in Indianapolis to look for more information if I find any will send it to you.

Thank you for finding this! I'd like to know more about my great-grandfather too. I recently found my Mom's aunt (Betty Greathouse Parks) who was Vern and Mert's daughter. She is still alive in Newcomerstown OH.
