John W. Carmichael was born April 14, 1871 in Brown County died Aug 14, 1960 Brown County, Indiana. Married on Nov 15, 1891 in Brown County Indiana to Mary Elizabeth Greathouse born Apr 3, 1874 in Indiana died Sep 27, 1934 in Brown County In.

John W. Carmichael parent were Leander Carmichael and Hannah Stidman and Mary Elizabeth Greathouse parents were peter Greathouse and Zedorah Dolano Wilcox. The children were
Minnie E. abt 1892 Brown County Indiana
Laura abt 1894 Brown County indiana
Loretta abt 1896 Brown County Indiana
Zedora Delma Sep 14, 1908 Brown County died in 1991.

Hardin was born in North Carolina according to his obituary.
Nancy was born in Greene County, Indiana
Hardin and Nancy took the family to Illinois.
They had 10 sons. Simeon McLelland Carmichael is one of the sons. Simeon's son Charles McLelland Carmichael is my grandfather. Grandpa died in 1849 before I could ever know him. We come from a large family. Only one grandchild had the priviledge of knowing Charles Carmichael grandson of Hardin.

I am Robin Carmichael by birth.

I have some information on the children of Michael Greathouse. Two of which were James and Zaddock. I am also interested in decendants of Michael that made thier way to Jackson County WV from Harrison and Taylor Counties in mid to late 1800's.

Charles and Ora(Edlin)Greathouse were married in the village of Bath, State of ILL. County of Scott. On Dec. 18, 1904, She was 18 and he was 22. They had 6 children 2 of which past at a young age. My G-Uncles were Voyle, Charles Lester (Uncle Jack), Virgil (Uncle Joe), Helen (my grandmother). They lived in Clinton till my grandmother move to Calif in 1959. What a wonderful surprise. I am Paul Jerry Greathouse. Born waterloo Ia. 1936. Charlie and Orra was my uncle and aunt. My father died in 1940, in the meantime Orra had died.
My mother moved to clinton from waterloo and we lived with uncle. there was Mother,and four of us kids, and uncle Charlie took us in. My father was Harry James Greathouse, Charlies brother, there was An aunt Florence that lived in Pekin and Peoria Ill . during the forties.Also there was uncle Bill who lived in Galveston Texas. Joe and Voyel lived just up the street from us. I don't recall Helen, How ever Jack had move out west sometime in the early forties. Sorry I have no pictures either, There are several of Joe's and Voyels, boys still liveing in Clinton. Your G. Grandfather and G. Grandmother Was James and Hattie,(Jones) Greathouse. All I can say is say is he was born in Ill. Where Hattie was born I do not know.That is all the information I can give you at this time I hope it will help you.This information on you Grand parents was take from the Death Certificate of Harry.
So it should be reliable.

This is so AWSOME... I have been tring to build a family tree, and to find relitives of my grandmothers side of the family.. Are you in any contact with Joe or Voyle's boys.. I would love to be able to talk to them.. I only remember alittle bit Uncle Voyle mainly his cigars... I didn't think this would be so hard tring to find either the Greathouse or the Andersen side...
