Re: Mary Grayham & Rev. John Miner 1800 IN>IL

I realize that this thread is over 10 years old; however, I just found it. I am not related to anyone from the John Miner line but met today a woman who is the great-great granddaughter of John Miner and Mary Graham. We met because I had purchased her davenport sofa that had belonged to her great-grandmother in 1841. Today when I met her, she gave to me a picture of her great-grandmother and on the back was some genealogy. She was told about my love for genealogy and knew I wanted to know some of the history of her family since I now own the Davenport. Here is the information I have. It is not complete with all of the children as it is simply a direct lineage of Elinor to John Minor.

Rev. John Miner - born July 4, 1775; died May 2, 1837 at the age of 62
(He was a Unitarian pastor)
Married to Mary Graham on Mar. 28, 1798. Mary was born on Aug 26, 1784. She died at the age of 59 in January of 1843.
They had 12 children.

Their Son, John Francis Miner, born Sept. 22, 1820 in Jefferson Co., Indiana. He died at the age of 88 on Jan 13, 1908.
He married Susana Ward on Dec. 23, 1841. She died on August 11, 1898.

Their daughter Anna Elizabeth (the youngest) was born on Nov. 27, 1860. She Married William Ritter (or Ritten) Swango on Dec. 28, 1879. WIlliam was born on Dec. 12, 1854 and died in 1921. Anna died in 1941 at the age of 80 in Macomb, Illinois.

Their daughter, Edythe Valeria (or Valenia) Swango was born on April 5, 1891. She married Ernest Walter Batcher (or Butcher) who was born on June 21, 1888. They married on December 24, 1911. They were Presbyterian.

Their daughter, Elinor Ruth was born on Feb. 28, 1913. She married John Walter Scott (b. Mar. 26,1916, d. Nov. 1991). Elinor is 101 and living in Hardy, Arkansas. She and John adopted a daughter, Janet Sue, from the Florence Crittenden Home in Columbus, Ohio on July 24, 1951. Janet Sue died in 2011. Elinor has outlived all of the relatives she knows.

I can take a picture of the photo of Susanna if you are interested.

Angie Gage

I am looking for information on Joseph Grayham who married Lillian Francis Elizabeth Gomm in 1934. At the time of his marriage he was 40 years old. Does anybody have this person in their family tree?
According to the marriage certificate his father was Hugh Graham, Carman, deceased. The change in spelling leads me to believe that the 'y' is a modern mutation. Joseph worked as a horse slaughterer and died in Colchester, Essex in 1957.
I cannot locate his birth, nor can I tie him to any Hugh Graham on the 1901 E&W census. Can anyone help?
Thanks,

Grahame.

Re: Grayham, Pennsylvania

John Grayham, age 20, married Elizabeth Langley, age 17, on Nov. 12, 1840 in Union Co., Arkansas. Children: William, Bollen, Lucinda, Jasper Newton and John Wesley Graham. John, his parents and four brothers were from Plymouth, Iowa, or in that area. John died in 1850, of pneumonia, while building a mill on the Des Moines River. After his parents died, the four brothers left on horseback. Two of them settled in the Carolinas. I will appreciate any info on this family.
