GRAVELLE family in Minnesota

I am looking for information on Emil Paul GRAVELLE; born 21 Apr 1861 in Wisconsin. He moved to Grand Rapids Township, Itasca, Minnesota sometime between 1880 and 1885. He married Adelia(Delia) sometime between 1889 and 1892. He probably had a first wife before this. He was living in Arbo Township, Itasca, Minnesota until his death on 24 Apr 1931. He had 16 children between the two wives. One of his daughters was Albena GRAVELLE. She married Peter Alber PION sometime between 1910 and 1928, in ,most likely, St Louis County, Minnesota. Any information would be appreciated but I would really like to find out more about their marriages, dates, places, etc. Thanks for any information given.

Re: ARTHUR HENRY GRAVELLE

Hi there!
Long story on how I am just now seeing and answering to all this, so I’ll just skip to the relative (no pun intended) info. Here goes:
My name is Mary Louise Kralicke I live in Texas.
My mother is Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Gravelle Kralicke, originally of Two Harbors, Mn.
Daughter of Art Gravelle (NOT Pickles) and Estelle Peacore Gravelle of Two Harbors, and sister of John (Dick), Virginia and Kathy.
My mom’s maternal grandfather was a Peacore.
Her paternal grandfather, Gravelle, was married to Amelia Gervais.
My mother, Betty, is the only Minnesotan who came south, at least until later when people headed to Fla.
She met my Dad, Dr. Martin Kralicke, when she was in nursing school in Chicago and he was in Med. School at Loyola. I guess he always wanted to be a cowboy, so we came to Texas in 1954, when I was a wee babe. I have an older brother, Steve, and older sister Margaret, as well as 3 younger siblings: Laura, Dianne and Elizabeth.
I also had an older brother, John, born in Chicago, who died shortly after birth. There is a total of 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Uncle Dick married Greta and had 3 daughters, Virginia (Aunt Ginna, who is deceased) had 6 children and Kathy, born when my mom was 16, has 3 boys. Of course, we’re all middle-aged now.
My father died 7 years ago. Betty is 87 and lives by herself in Muenser, Tx, where my dad was the town doctor.
I have some pics I can send as soon as I find a scanner, if you’d like. I always wanted to visit up north, mainly to see what it would be like to be around relatives. My dad, being the only doctor around, was unable to get away much, and if he and Mom did, they didn't want to travel with 6 kids!
I named my daughhter Amelia, after her great-great grandmother. I didn’t change my name when married (and now divorced) but have always gone by my surname, Kralicke. I am a theatre teacher in Irving, Tx, a suburb of Dallas.
I know my mom’s cousin Bob had all the genealogy info for years, but after he passed, we weren't sure who became the one in charge.
If you have any questions, ask them asap as my mom is slowly creeping into senility. However, she does remember the past much better than something she did 5 minutes before. There are lots of pictures with folks I hope someone can help identify.
My email is mlektex@yahoo.com.
I saw where Jeanie was in touch. She has visited us in Texas a few times.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Mary

Hi, thought I'd touch base with you again. Haven't heard anything new but did find a new "cousin" Coral the adopted daughter of David Gravelle. I think she told me she was 83 and living in MN now. She sends me all kinds of jokes and stories and appears to be quite computer literate for her age. I enjoy hearing from her, to bad I never met her. There's so many of the family that I have never met, it's too bad we never had any reunions; wouldn't that have been nice? If you hear anything more about the family or have any pictures/stories that you'd like to share, I'd enjoy hearing them.

Grandfather was Lucian Paul Gravelle, Father is George Paul Gravelle (only child). Grandfather was married to Leona M "Bille" Swan. Grandfather was born in Minnesota, the Duluth area I believe. Later lived in Washington, Indiana and worked for Superior Steel Ball Company. Later I believe he lived in Connecticut.

My Grandfather was Lucian Paul Gravelle DOB 3/19/20,DOD 5/28/70, from Minnesota, I believe the Duluth area. Everyone called him Louey. He married a Leona M "Bille" Swan and they had a son, George Paul Gravelle (my Dad). Grandfather later lived in Washington, Indiana and Connecticut. I can vaguely remember the names of Riley and Eugene and also a Florence mentioned in connection with my grandfather. There is also a Fuch or "Fox" relation but I am not sure how it relates to me. I would love to compare notes to see if we are connected.

As a matter of fact, I have of picture of you and my oldest daughter, Michelle, sitting in a wagon together. I think it was you...might have been Sean. You're the first son of Clarence Jr. (Tex) and Anne Gravelle. It's so nice to touch base with you. Do you have a facebook account or a blog or something like that? You can find me on facebook...Betty Gravelle Connally. Otherwise my e-mail is bettc@ktc.com

Well, there must be a tie-in somewhere as there were two branches of Gervais in Two Harbors and I don't know how many Gravelle's. You can get the telephone number in Two Harbors for Virginia Mickelson, she's the last living family member still in Two Harbors from Amelia & Alexander Gravelle. She may know something about Jack Gravelle - I do not recognize the names you listed. Don't wait too long, most family memebers have not made it past 70 and Virginia's going to be 73 this year.

In the 1881 Census, Alexandre Joseph GRAVEL was 20 living in Montebello with his parents Virgina THIBAUDEAU and Anthanase GRAVEL. Alexander's sister Elmire was my great grandmother.
Hi,

I was back in Montebello. a couple of years ago and took pictures of the gravestone. The Alexander's mother Virginie was part of the Acadian family, the Thibodeau's. A lot of her relatives ended up in Louisina. I have a lot of the history on the family. She used to visit her relatives. She was quite a character.

Rosette

Well, how nice to meet a relative. William Edward Gravelle was my father. We may be cousins. Can you tell me more about Pickles. My mother has several letters where she refers to "Pickles" and I am wondering if he ever stayed with my mother and Bill in Florida or Bill in New York state? Who is John Richard Gravelle - I have never heard of him. I only know about Ameddy, Arthur, Frank, William & May. Just last year I found out that Arthur had two older children, Betty and Virginia, and got to meet Virginia on a trip I made back to Two Harbors. She is one heck of a person - my husband and I think the world of her.

My husband, Brian, has a connection we believe to this particular Gravel family. Ida Gravel, dau. of Euclede Gravel & Eliza Better, son of Thomas Grave and Rose Soulard (you have her as Marie), etc. Do you have any additional information that would be useful to us in our research?
Frederick Gravelle born 1881 Ottawa, Ontario

Looking for any information on Frederick Gravelle. He was born 25 March 1881 in Ottawa Ontario, son of Francois Xavier Gravelle and Marie A. A. Lamirand. Francois and Marie married about 1869, location unknown. Francois Xavier was born 2 May 1852 in Chelsea Quebec, and died 20 February 1915 in Carleton Ontario, and was the son of Joseph Gravelle and Julia Parent.
Frederick Gravelle (born 1881) married Margaret Maud Sullivan 2 September 1902 in Brockville Ontario, and they were my husbands maternal grandparents.
My mother-in-law always said she was half French, half Irish and all Catholic. The info I do have I've found in the Drouin records, the Ontario French Catholic records, and Canadian census.
Any suggestions, leads, or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Rhoda Blake-Hudson
alkeda.hudson@sympatico.ca

yes, the Dick & Cathy I know are your father and aunt. I remember the house well as I was there often. Uncle Meddy lived on Cedar Road at that time and the one and only neighbor was Pete Bonneville and his wife May. When my mother came up to Florida after William abandoned her to live with Meddy and help take care of his boys, she bacame acquainted with Pete & May and they introduced her to his brother, Ray, and that is how my mother met Ray Bonneville and married him. He was a drunkard and treated her awful but she never left him I'm sorry to say. Again, any info you could supply me on Pickles would be helpful. Did he ever marry? Does he have any children? Was he ever in Florida with Walt/Mae & William?

Take care and it's been nice "chatting" with you. Tell your Dad and Cathy I said hello if you get a chance.
