My gr-gr grandmother was Marthe Marie (GRANUM) Thoreson. She was born 7 OCT 1843 in Ringsaker, Norway and married Sven THORESON in 1868 - they resided in La Crosse county Wisconsin, near the town of Holmen.



Marthe's parents were Peder Olson GRANUM and Kari JACOBSDOTTER (not sure if she went by GRANUM or not). Peder and Kari had at least 8 children (Ole, Marthe, Peter, Sophie, Olaus P., Petra, Martin and Laurits). Several of the children resided in Wisconsin, though I understand taht some of the children moved to the Brookings, SD area with their parents. I know that Marthe, O.P. and Martin ended up near La Crosse - not sure about the others.



The others I know very little about. I would be interested in learning more about any of these GRANUM's and sharing what I know.
