I just read your post about your great-great grandmother. She was my great grandmother. I was told that she left Scotland at the age of 16 and came to America to live with an American family. My grandmother was Margaret. I knew your grandfather when I was a very little girl. He was my great uncle. We lived in Des Moines until I was 8 years old. My father stayed in touch with one of his cousins for many years. Her name was Mary Dee. He just passed last February at the age of 91.
I do know about Mary as my grandmother and my father lived with her until he was 8 years old. Later in life, she lived with her daughter, Mary, until her death in 1955.
