Can anyone tell me if the Grant families that are listed in the 1850 census of Meriwether county are related?

Major Grant, Rhohn Grant, Thomas Grant, Gregory Grant and John W Grant.

I suspect they are related and at age 76, Thomas Grant, being the father of them.
