Joined the King's Royal Regiment of New York 1777 - 1783 , KRRNY . One son and two daughters listed . Resettled to Charlottenburg Glengarry 1783 where he drew part Lot 19 Front Charlottenburg which he then traded with the Heirs of Kenneth McKenzie for east half Lot 17 on South Branch Road , so he could settle with his son John Grant on the west half of that Lot 17 . Finlay's name does not appear on McNiff's Map 1786 as swap probably took place while Map was being made . John Grant name is on that Map and he later went to court against a McKenzie to prove his ownership of same . Their descendants still live on that property .
