I am looking for information regarding Grant lineage from North Carolina area. My father's name is Frodie Grant. He had three brothers: Samuel H., Johnnie and Roscoe. Two sisters: Altessie and Sally.
His parents were Samuel H. Grant and Margaret Lassiter.
Any information will be helpful. I believe the town he was from was around Rich Square, NC>

I have info on a Shadrack Grant who married Bathsheba Lassiter of this area. They had a daughter Mary Grant b. feb 14, 1812 d. june 26, 1862. She married my g.g.g.grandfather Josiah Spivey april 12, 1833.They had 9 children. Also some of the Spivey and Grant info I have cross over from Northampton Co.,NC to Southampton Co.,VA....... Somewhere out there is a book about the Grant family called "Northhampton county cousins"...it apparently has what little there is available on my Spivey Family...my Grandfather who is 94 lives in N.C. I'm trying desperately to put some of this together for him while I can. Any Ideas??

I recently visited the graves of Bathsheba Lassiter Grant and Samuel Grant in the churchyard of Rehoboth Methodist Episcopal Church, Jackson, Northumberland Co., NC. Very interested in exchanging information. Their son, WIlliam and his wife are also buried there.

Please change the county in my previous message about the cemetery to Northampton rather than Northumberland!

Hi Evelyn, Thanks for your reply. That is the first time I've ever seen him named as Samuel instead of Shadrack Grant.
My g grandfather Stephen Shadrack Spivey was named after him. I'd love to share info. What would you like to know? Who are you looking for?

You are right, of course. I don't know where I got "Samuel."
My husband's grandmother was Beulah Beatrice Lassiter, d/o Stephen Cornelius Lassiter and Eliza Jane Spivey. I am interested in all information about their families, places of burial, etc. I have been unable to locate the Lassiter family cemetery, but have read that it is outside of Lasker. While there, we asked around and checked with the libraries, but to no avail. We found a Cornelia S. Lassiter buried in the Lasker cemetery. Do yu know who she was? Thanks for any help.

Hi Evelyn,
I know what you mean........many of the old cemeteries in NC seem to have just vanished into the woods and weeds. Some were actually on the farm property in the middle of cotton fields (2 in my family were).
I don't have much on Lassiter but I'd have to guess that Cornelia S. Lassiter that you mention must have been related to your Stephen Cornelius Lassiter...perhaps a dtr, an aunt.
Did her stone have dates on it?

I do know who your Eliza Jane Spivey's parents were and
HELLO Cousin!!!
I will send you a private email with some info.
would love to share some notes.

Hi, My name is Ann Blackwell Lassiter and Stephen Cornelius Lassiter was my great grandfather. His son, Henry Grady Lassiter was my grandfather. His son, James Alexander Lassiter was my father. I would really like to connect with Henry Grady's sister's family and would like any information anyone might have. Thanks!
