I am researching a GRANDY family in England but the origins are in South Carolina, USA but exact location unknown.

JAMES WILLIAM GRANDY was born 1851 and is recorded in the 1880 US census as an "Actor" in New York, married, aged 29. At the same address is JULIA GRANDY, a laundress, so I presume they were married. His parents are recorded as being born in S. Carolina also.

By 1883 James is in England as part of a theatre or music hall company and recorded as the father of a son born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. After that I can find no record of him.

if anyone has any further information about James and his family, it would be appreciated.
