CHILLICOTHE: Sharon L. Chaney, 71, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died 4:39 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was born August 4, 1942, in Ross County, Ohio to the late John W. and Ethel McComis Gragg. On May 23, 1959, she married Lonnie L. Chaney who died November 10, 2013.

Surviving are children, Cheryl (Danny) Payne, John (Jeannie) Chaney, Chris (Patricia) Chaney and Mark (Tracey) Chaney, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Michelle (Chad) Diehl, Amy (Zach) Gill, Matt (Holly) Shoemaker, John D. Chaney, Brooke Stewart, Janna (Robbie) Phipps, Tiffany (Robert) Cravens, Brendan Chaney, Anthony Malone, Kyle (Tara) Payne and Amanda Payne; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Jenny) Gragg, of Chillicothe, OH; sisters, Ida Mae (Phillip) Schobeloch, Norma Jean (Bernard) Bethel, both of Chillicothe and Barbara (Donald) Proehl, of Richmond Dale, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Betty King and Nettie Mullins; and brothers, John, Raymond, Joby and Harold Gragg.

Sharon was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church. F

uneral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Ohio

. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.
