"Angeline Hibner, who had been raised from 1 1/2 years by her grandparents, George & Anna Maria Barr, and moved with them to Forrestville, Fillmore County, MN... in 1865 was married to Daniel Grabou, of the same place, who died in June 1867, leaving her with six small children. She afterward married Herman Luedtke of the same place..."
From Lawrence Bar's "History of the Bar Family (formerly Baer)"
Does anyone on this list have Grabou/Grabow/Grabau families in Fillmore County? Or any other information on these people? I have lots on the Barr line, but only this for this particular family.

Christian Grabau immigrated from England in the 1800's.
One of his realtives my Grandfather was Howard Grabau from Rochester Mn. The Grabau family used to hold family reunion in Filmore county every year at Mystery Caves in Preston. We have a family ancestry albums of the Grabau's from the 1800 to probably the 80's. with all names dates births deaths ect.
They probably still have family their.

I hope this gets referred to everyone -- Thank you all for responding to my question!! My Great-great-grandfather was Nicholas Barr, uncle of Catherine Angeline Hibner Grabau -- a brother of her mother, Catherine Barr Hibner. Nicholas' & Catherine's parents, George and Anna Maria Barr moved to Forestville, MN, from NY state (after an arduous journey from Bavaria), because there was land available. I have a paper written by Lawrence Barr, Catherine's youngest brother, in which he tells of his family's coming from Germany, living in NY state and moving on to MN. -- 2 of the brothers, Nicholas and John, had married NY state girls, and stayed in NY. He lists all of his brothers & sisters, who they married, their children and grandchildren (with spouses of many), and where they were living in 1909. If anyone is interested in this paper (written in 1909 -- Lawrence, who had moved on to Centralia WA, was shot & killed by a bank robber in 1911) -- I can mail copies. I can't seem to transmit it via the internet, but can send by snail mail. If you want, you can contact me through the Ancestry Messages (check my profile).
I'm constantly looking for more "Barr-kin", and love to share information. I do have a copy of a spiral-bound book on the descendents of Christian Grabau. Have found several Hibner cousins, too, if anyone would like to be in touch with them.
