My husbands family came from Sicily. Born in Noto in the 1800 and then migrated to Canniacatinni Bagni. My Husbands father came to the U.S. in the 1920's and settled in New Britain ,Conn. Married a Zenittini and had 2 children. They were Santo and Elaine.
Would be interesting to hear from anyone who is connected to that Gozzo Clan.

Hi,

On familyhistory.com I saw your request for information on the "Gozzo" family. I have only one somewhat suspicious reference to "Gozzo". It may not help you, but you may be able to help me.

My grandfather, Giovanne (John) Mozzicato, was born in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily in 1875. Possibly
his father was Francisco Mozzicato and his mother was Anna Gozzo. But when I found the actual civil birth record from the Mormon's microfilm, there was no mother or father listed. Some people say that they never actually married. Later, supposedly, Anna married a "Demauro" and had at least one son, my
grandfather's half brother, Vincent.

Unfortunately, most of the key players are deceased so first hand information is not available. I am close
to being the oldest survivor at 69. The other older two do not remember as genealogy was seldom discussed in the family.

If you have any information on this "Anna Gozzo", I would appreciate your sending it to me.
Anna wound have been born between 1850 and 1860. Also, if you know anything about her
spouse(s) and children, it would help.

Regards, John Mozzicato

I think I might know alittle about Santo Gozzo, he might be my greatgrandfather. My grandmother was Amalia Gozzo from solarino, sicily she was born in 1898. Her fathers name was Santo Gozzo her mothers name was Maryann Scalora(not sure if spelled correctly). Amalia married Joeseph Musso (my grandfather) from Palazzolo, Sicily.

My husband was Santo Gozzo born to Sebastian Gozzo and Paqualina in 1932.
Sebastian was born in Sicily in the early 1900. He was born to Santo and Josephine Gozzo. They were originally from Cannacatina Bana. Sorry about the spelling. My husband Santo has a cousin in Siracusa Sicily.
Maybe they were cousins.
