Edna I just found a relative over the internet; she's in the process getting info from book together from her relative in Okla. and her name is Geri and her email is Petalware@aol.com; she grew up in Amarillo but lives out of state. The Goza's were fromSC>Ms. The name was Gozzi which is Italian; her relative traced it back to an Italian count from Eastern Italy who made his way to Germany due to religious reasons; when they hit the Colonies in the 1600's the name became "Goosey" and then changed to Goza/Gosa; do you blame them? It seems obvious that the Anglo pronunciation of Goosey was from trying to pronounce Gozzi; most of those early Americans changed the spelling of their names as in the Anglo side of the family; it was their way of showing they were now Americans. There's an Indian connection there also. Do you have your son-in-law's line or can you get him into that yet? We've got to get him hooked on geneology; sik'em sik'em (giggle giggle). frances fmcw@ktc.com
