Any help very gratefully received!
I've tracked one branch of my Leicester ancestry to Ann Goward, born 1739 to Theophilus Withers Goward and Mary (maiden name unknown as yet), who were my 6 times great grandparents. I can't see this splendidly named chap anywhere else in Ancestry or the FamilySearch sites, and a google search returns nothing. You'd think a name like that would be easy to find. Has anyone please got any further information on him at all?
Phil

Hello Phil, are any of your ancestors American Gowards? So difficult finding any information. Looking for Gowards perhaps originally French, I have found a French spelling: Gouvard and perhaps a Huguenot. My grandfather, Walter Goward, was born about 1907 and had about five brothers, also, Walter was a teamster in Detroit, but that is another interesting story.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, please feel free to email me at 61994petra@gmail.com with Goward in the subject line. Thank you ~Gayle
