I have found out that lillian had a brother and his name was Hugh Shearer. He is who my Uncle Hugh Shearer Gow was named after. My Uncle Hugh passed away this March and it was while I was with the rest of the family I learned of this. Also that my great grandfather had a brother David who moved to Australia and passed in the 1930's. There is much more I hope to post soon as we go through the history and memories. I have a new e-mail now also. mikal@goldcity.net If anyone needs more info or has more info please forward.

Peter, I am searching for the parents of Catherine Gow, b. abt. 1771 and married Thomas Stewart. Both families were from Blair Atholl. Catherine would be my 3g grandmother. You may email me at mommat35@hotmail.com

I have John Gow marrying Marjory McDonald 6 Jun 1847 in Blair Atholl.

They then had at least 5 children, all in Moulin Parish.

I don't have anything on John's parents or siblings, and in fact only have an approximate birth date of 1818 in Fortingall Parish.

I'd love any info you have.

Thanks!

Allison

My great grandfather, Daniel Gow, was born in Blair Athol in about 1846. His father is named as John Gow and his mother was Christian Paton Fraser, daughter of Charles Fraser, also born in Blair Atholl. I have found no record of marriage for John and Christian and it appears that Daniel was brought up by his grandparents in Aberfeldy. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated as I haven't been able to take the Gow line past John.
