ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HOWARD GOW WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I KNOW HE LIVED IN OHIO AND LATER WITH MY GRANDMA AND UNCLE DAVID IN JOLIET OR MOKENA AREA. HIS SON CHESTER OR 'BUD' AS HE WAS CALLED WAS MY FATHER.

Hi Cynthia,

We are cousins. I have been in touch before with your Aunt Sandra Maffitt. I have in my database that Howard died in Youngstown Ohio, in 1982 but I know that is not right. I'm not sure where that information came from. I thought maybe it came from th SSI index. But then I met Candy Freeman and Sandra through internet contacts and a relative contact and they said he was still living. My half sister Beryl said that he was still living also. (about two years ago anyway) so I will need to do more checking on that. I've really been out of the Genealogy loop for awhile because my work has kept me too busy. But now I'm trying to get back into it.

Hi Sandra,

When I put that post up well over a year ago, I had had contact with 2 different people who stated that he was still living but they weren't sure where. There doesn't seem to be a lot of communication amongst the Gows and I frequently get information from this relative or that which I discover later is inaccurate, or sometimes the person relating the information seems to be confused.

I couldn't remember where I got the original death information that was in my database (it may have come from you) and I lost a considerable amount of information when I had a crash a couple of years ago. Much of the information that I lost was my list of sources connected to the names in my database along with notes that I had typed in under each name. Even though I had current backup copy, for some reason (a Family Tree Maker Thing I guess) I could not get the notes and sources back in. I have been slowly rebuilding from hard copies that I have, but haven't had a lot of time to devote to this project for some time.

So, yes, I doubted then that the information I had was correct.

I'm not doubting that anymore. And it's nice to hear from you again.

Another thing that I lost was my list of contacts in my email. So I've been slowly rebuilding that also but many people that I had corresponded with I've not been able to get back in touch with unless I find a current address for them out on the internet.
