Who was Joseph Gough of Wiltshire, owned land in Ireland 1870's

Who was Joseph Gough of Salisbury and Danton, Wiltshire, England, who owned humungous quantities of land in Kerry and Offaly counties in Ireland, in the 1850's through atleast 1870's, possibly 1880's?

Did he have family ties to the Clibborn family of Moate, or did he merely sponge up some of their land? Usually Clibborn land ended up in the hands of their inlaws and relations, but I have trouble imagining these devout Quakers mixing it up with absentee landlords from England.

Was he even IN Ireland?

My mother was a Gough & tracing her ancestors they were migrant agricultural labourers, definitely not land owners.
They came from north county Dublin, Ireland where I found a Christopher Gough in 1811 residing in Lusk, Co. Dublin.
Sorry but I can't see any connection at present.
