Charles is my great great grandfather. He died in Brooklyn, NY 27-Oct-1897. Louis died 17-Dec-1876. He is in the family plot. Is he Charle's brother? George was in my gggrandfather's home for the 1870 US Census along with Henrietta Goubeaud and Wm "Sammis". He moved to PA (I believe) and was married to an Elizabeth in abt 1870. He is in the 1900 US Cenus for PA. Is he my great great grandfather's brother?

Deirdre, My husband is the son of Marie B. Goubeaud. She was a daughter of George and Emma (Quinn) Goubeaud. We have been working on the Goubeaud family for some time. I have corresponded with Ruth Kreiger and she has sent me copies of the Goubeaud family trees from Germany and France. Has Ruth contacted you? Pam and Vince Groover, Virginia Beach, VA

Dear Pamela, I didn't mean to ignore you. I tried the path you sent me several times and it did'nt work. I thought it was a mistake.
I have been in contact with Ruth, we are lucky to have her in the family.
I am the great grandaughter of Henry and Minnie Quinn Goubeaud. I would guess you know Minnie and Emma were sisters. Their father was John J. Quinn whose parents were Jeremiah Quinn and Mary Glancy. Their mother was Mary Cunningham whose parents were Richard Cunningham and Margret McCoy.
The Goubeaud girls, Betty and Pat, told me in 1970 that your husband's uncle John had the family bible. Do you think this was true?
I can scan pictures of Charles and Franceska, John J. and Mary, Leroy as a child etc., and an invitation to the Quinn's 25th wedding anniversary party, if you want.
Yours, Deirdre

Deidre, it is great to hear from you! We don't know anything about a Bible. Vince never knew any of his mother's people. It seems that she ran away at a young age. Vince's father was divorced and her family did not approve. It is a long story with some details still not known. Before his death, Vince and I talked several times to John Raywood Goubeaud. He was so helpful and gave us so much information about the family. He, also, sent us some copies of pictures. We had planned to go to Brooklyn and had reservations, but things changed after Sept. 11 and we were not able to go. Many of the Goubeauds are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn. Vince's grandparents, George and Emma, are buried in Flushing. Where do you live? E-Mail me your phone number and I will give you a call. Then names of Emma and Minnie's grandparents are new to us. I have a copy of your g grandfather's obit from the New York Times. He delivered Vince's mother. Looking forward to hearing from you. Pam and Vince Va. Bch., VA

My husband's grandmother was Muriel Goubeaud, daughter of George Goubeau and his wife Emma. Muriel married Lucien Charles Rondot. They divorced after having a son, also named Lucien Charles Rondot. His nickname was Buddy.
I would very much like to share information on this family.

Carolyne, great to hear from you. My husband is the son of Marie B. Goubeaud, who was Muriel's oldest sister. What information do you have and what are you seeking? We have the Goubeaud family back to Europe - we have pictures of some the family - George Goubeaud and his parents and some of his brothers. Do you have a picture of Emma (Quinn) Goubeaud? Look forward to hearing from you. Pam and Vince Groover, Virginia Beach, VA

Pam,
Somehow my notification thing didn't work and I just now found your reply to my post. I am so glad to find someone who knows "Muriel" in the Goubeaud family. All I have on the family is the 1900 census and it took me years to find that. I didn't have Muriel's last name until April of this year, and then the spelling was phonetic.
We have no photos of the Goubeaud family. It was April when my husband saw a photo of his father for the first time after we were finally able to connect to the Rondot family. Muriel and her husband divorced, and my husband's parents divorced and it went down hill from there.
Hoping to hear from you soon.

Carolyne, sorry to take so long to get back to you. We have had health problems. I will see if I remember how to do attachments and send some pictures. My 19 year old grandson has been a great help in figuring out how to do things on my new computer. Do you know Peter and Joy Goubeaud? They lived in Sewanee, TN, but have moved to Idaho now. I just received a CD from them and after I view it I will get back to you with some of the information. Peter and Joy have been to Germany to research the Goubeaud line. TTYL, Pam

I understand about the delay. We're have a bit of health trouble, too. No, I do not know Peter and Joy Goubeaud. I would appreciate it if you would give them my email address and "introduce" me to them. With so few descendants overall (compared many other lines in America), I think we all need to get together to pool notes.
