Dierdre,

Could you please scan photos and post them here so other family members can copy them?

I have a photograph of George Joseph Goubeaud and also a photograph of their Long Island summer cottage. I have many photographs of my grandfather John E. Goubeaud and his wife Veronica Kiernan Goubeaud. Also, their is a photograph of different family members in a privately owned airplane they used to fly in. I think one of the sons of George Joseph Goubeaud owned the airplane.

Dear Rene,

My name is Deirdre Daverin. My great grandfather was Henry Goubeaud, George Goubeaud's brother. I can't say who owned the plane. It most likely had something to do with George, your great uncle. My mother Joan Goubeaud died in 1970, and George and Elizabeth (from Hempstead, you spelled it correctly)came to the house, along with 2 second cousins of my mother, Betty and Pat (daughters of Wilbur). George spoke of early avaition, Roosevelt Field, knowing Lindbergh etc. You could probably research it. He was fascinating, it took my mind of my troubles. I might have a picture for you down the road but I want to have it dated by someone with expertise. I found it funny that we had something in common, the same elderly relatives (although, less elderly to me).

Mark, all of the Goubeauds that have posted here trace their direct lines back to Charles Goubeaud who arrived in New York in the 1850s. He settled in Kings Co., NY. However, a George Goubeaud, who was related, settled in Pennsylvania. I will do some checking and see what I can find for you.
My late husband was a g grandson of Charles Goubeaud.
