(April 29, 1924 - April 16, 2011)

Vancil Lee Goth, age 86, of Clinton, MO, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.
Vancil was born April 29, 1924, in Montrose, MO, to Eldridge and Esther (Brownsberger) Goth. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star. Vancil married Bernadine Gieselman on July 29, 1947, in Urich, MO. He worked at Stayton Chevrolet as the body shop manager for 28 years until his retirement in 1984. Vancil enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son-in-law Mike. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 14 and VFW Post 1894.
Vancil’s parents, Eldridge and Esther, four brothers, Jim, Jay, Mike and Gilbert Goth and son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Shook, preceded him in death.
He is survived by: his wife, Bernadine, of the home; seven children, Cathy Shook, Norma Simmons and husband, Mike, Darrell Goth and wife, Rose, Doris Smith and husband, Rex, all of Clinton, Karen Baker and husband, Gary of Ozark, Van Goth and wife, Sharon, Jerry Goth and wife, Kay, both of Clinton; one sister, Mary Margaret Long and husband, Carroll, of Battlefield, MO; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Consalus Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Clinton at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, with Father Philip Egan officiating. Burial will follow at Englewood Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund. Contributions may be made in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd Street, Clinton, MO, 64735.
