I am also looking for individuals with the last name of Gotch, my grandmother's maiden name is Gotch. My great-grandparents, Jan Goc married Mary Tomasko, May 19, 1902 in Streator, IL. Both came from Czechoslovakia. Started in PA and them migrated to Illinois, where my great grandfather was a coal miner. Had a brother who also lived in Streator and a sister still in Czechoslovakia. Any information would be helpful, I have information up to the great-grandparents.

My grandmother's last name was Gotch. Supposely the family came from Czechoslovakia at least according to the census. They settle in Streator, Illinois, my greatgrandfather was a coal miner in Streator. The original spelling was GOC but I am unable to find anything with that spelling. Let me know where you are from and who your grandmother is? Have some information on the Gotch family as it relates to my grandmother.

Our family originated in 1760 in Kettering and ran a Bank with a family called Keep. It crashed !. The family ran a shoe factory but that was boughtup. Relations went to Australia and started a printing company. We do have a famous artist who formed the Newlyn School, his name is Thomas Cooper Gotch and there is a book coming out about him in september 2004. good luck

I am a Gotch who orignaly came from Northampton, England. We are doing our family tree and can trace the name back to the1750 when it changed to Gotche and then Gowch who died in 1515. All the Gotch's in this country are related, they mostly come from Northamptonshire although some traveled to London in the 1750 and set up a branch there. Keith

My great-grandmother's name was Susan Gotch. I have reached a major roadblock in researching this branch of the family. Maybe the name was spelled differently. She was born approximately around 1888. She married George Maras (also unsure of the previous spellings of his name because I have reached a roadblock here as well). They eventually moved to Minnesota and had my grandmother Catherine Maras. If you have any information, resources, or suggestions that you would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it.
