Would you share information on Lisa Gosa who married Francies Leroy Miller? I just found last week that he raised my grandmother Mollie Dodson Robertson. In the 1880 census I find htem living in Lamar Co. Al. He was forst married to emeline Dodson and they are found in the 1900 census in Monroe Co. Ms. Do you know who the children of each of the wives were? I have tried to find them in the 1910 census but they seemed too have disappeared. Then the are there in 1920 but not in 1930. Mollie married John A. McDonald. Then two of his sons married into the Gosa family. It was daughters of Henry Gosa.

Mary Elizabeth Gosa married Francis Leroy Miller after his first wife Emeline Dodson died. Emeline was my g-grandmother. Her daughter Mollie who was the daughter of Rile Robertson and Emeline Dodson was born in Lamar or Fayette Co.Alabama. You can find them in the 1880 census there and in Monroe Co.Al. in 1900. Soon after this Emeline dies and in December of 1902 he married Mary Elizabeth. He was about 30 years older than Mary. Do you know if she remarried after Frank died and who? I would appreciate any help on this family.

Brenda,
Francis L Miller (Frank) was my grandfather's uncle. He was the son of Robert Miller & Margaret Orr.
I show Frank and 1st wife, Emeline Dodson on the 1880 Lamar Co Census, he appears on the 1900, 1910, & 1920 Monroe Co MS census.
After the death of Emeline, he married Mary Elizabeth Goza. I have their children as : Villie, Lila, Zadie, Mary, Jack, and Noel.
Do you know where Frank & Mary Elizabeth are buried.
I will look for his death certificate in the archives and see what I can find. I have that Mary Elizabeth died in 1979.
Thanks for any info - would be glad to share what I have with you.

John T. Gosa was the son of Thomas Pinkney Gosa. He was married to his sisters' husband Frances (Frank) Millers' sister Josephine Miller. She died after giving birth to my grandmother Mittie Lee Gosa. Mittie was raised by an older couple that couldn't have children. After Mittie got married she had a daughter by Wm. Napoleon Griffith, and left him while she wa pregnant with my mom. She got married again and left my mom with the older couple that had raised her. We grew up kowing Mary Elizabeth Gosa Miller, later Russell. So I knew a little about the family. There were several kids of Thomas P. First was John T., Sarah E. (Lallie), James Vanderbilt, Wm. Zachary, and Mary Elizabeth (Liza) Gosa. I have a copy of Wm. Z. divorce from Marth.Hope this helps. Thank you, Julia Martin-Welch
