I have a file of over 1200 descendants of
Anders Goplen.
These are the Goplens that came from Nord
Torpa Norway and settled near Five Points,
in Richland County, Wisconsin.
Ole went to Motley, Mn.
My grandmother, Ida, was a daughter of Edvard,
and married Homer McDermott.
The file is in FTW format but I can get you
a GEDCOM file if you prefer.
Any one interested?

Tina, I do not show you in the tree.
However can't wait to hear from you.
No doubt we both can benefit from this.
goody, goody, goody.
Sorry, but I become a little kid again when I hear things like this.

I'm anxious to find out more about your side of the family. Was Edvard Ole's brother? It would be nice if we could correspond. I am excited to find a new branch in the family tree. I have run into a wall as far as when and where Anders and his wife came to America from in Norway. I do not know of any other siblings and/or relatives Anders had who came to America with. Please let me know how we can exchange information. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Terry
I would like the file - please explain the FTW and
GEDCOM formats.
I very likely have more information that can be added to your descendant number.
Thank you, Ed Goplin

I am also a descendant of Anders Goplen. My mother is Gerda (Goplen) Denelsbeck, the oldest daughter of my grandfather, Ben (Abernd) Goplen, the youngest son of Ole Goplen. I believe that Ole moved to Motley, Minnesota, about 1899 and died shortly thereafter. His wife Sophia lived until 1938. She was from Wisconsin and had immigrated from Norway as a child.

I have done quite a lot of work on the ancestry of my family and my husband's family. I am just ready to get started on the Goplen side. I would sincerely appreciate any of your work that you are willing to share.

Thanks for your kind consideration.

Sure, I would be glad to.

Email me at:
Terrybell@tds.net

and tell me all you would like to know.

I have been in contact with both Dennis Goplen Sr. and Jr. who live just south of Lake Milacs in Mn. jThey are also Ole's descendants.

I'd like to add you to our address book and email group. It's been pretty slow so maybe you could liven things up some.

I'll look for your email.

Terry,

I have just begun researching my Goplen/Goplin side of the family that live in Richland Center and would appreciate a copy of your file. Either format is fine.

Thanks,

Andrew Wilson
