Richard, my family tree also is from James Monroe Goodson from Jefferson Co. and Martha Davis also from the same county. I know they had seven sons and three daughters but do not know of a Edmond.

I do know three brothers William, John, and Michael of Scotch-Irish descent settled in NC and VA around 1750. They were the original brothers who came to this country.

William lived in NC and had six sons and three daughters - Michael, William, Champion, Benjamin, Andrew, John, Jane, Anna, and Elizabeth.

Michael had two sons - Andrew and Roland Patten Goodson who were born in NC but moved to TN in 1840.

John - lived in Bristol, VA and father of Col. Samuel P. Goodson who was a member of the VA legislature. John owned around 1700 acres of land called Sapling Grove. He donated 300 for a town named first Goodsonville then Goodson and finally became known as Bristol. I don't know if there were other children but from my records I don't think so.

If you find additional information please let me know.
