Tad/Thaddeus Goodson was the brother of my grandfather James H. Goodson. Both men were the children on Aesop Goodson with Tad being the youngest. Both brothers married 2 sisters. Tad married Harriet Sims and James married Charlotte Sims. I am a genealogist and I have been researching the Goodsons since 1981. Tad did record several song in 1939 which were made into albums. Copies of the alburms are found at the Library of Congress. Aesop Goodson was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives during Reconstruction, 1868-1872 as one of the Richland County representatives. I have found some original records which back up this information. Tad worked for Dr. Edward Clarkson Leverett Adams for many years. According to Dr. Adams' book, Nigger to Nigger or Tales of the Congaree, Tad lived on the land that Adams eventually bought.
What do you know about your grandfather's parents and/or about Tad's siblings?
