Benjamin Goodman (Christened May 1639 in Southhill, Bedfordshire) was the son of William Goodman and Mary Archer. He was reprieved to Barbados in 1672 and then subsequently transported to Maryland in 1674. He married Lucie Blackwell sometime before 1701 when his first son Samuel was Christened in St. Peter's Parish, VA. His next son Robert was born in 1703, and finally third son Benjamin in 1705. Last but not least daughter Ann made her appearance in 1707.
Now as to the so-called overlooked record in Goldington, it was hardly overlooked. In fact, my brothers and I discussed it several years ago. My older brother then made two visits to England to check on this and a couple of other matters. When he left England he hired a British firm to conduct some additional research in the event he might have missed something. He didn't.
And it would pay us all to keep in mind that our Benjamin Goodman was hardly the only Benjamin Goodman born in England on or about the same time.
