Judy,

Re: " He was reprieved to Barbados in 1672 and then subsequently transported to Maryland in 1674. He married Lucie Blackwell sometime before 1701 when his first son Samuel was Christened in St. Peter's Parish, VA. His next son Robert was born in 1703, and finally third son Benjamin in 1705. Last but not least daughter Ann made her appearance in 1707."

You need to review some of my past posts on this subject in this forum. This is old info that has been out on the internet for years. However, despite several requests over the years, nobody has ever provided any specific source references for the assertion that the Benjamin Goodman of New Kent / Hanover VA and whose wife was Lucie Blackwell was the same one ordered transported or who was earlier in Maryland. Nor has any specific proof been cited that actually establishes that he was from any of the Bedfordshire Goodman families. It is all simply unproven conjecture.

In fact, the actual historical record clearly states that the Benjamin Goodman, a prisoner at Newgate, Middlesex County (London) who was ordered transported in 1672 was "of St Katherine's", which is a parish just east of the Tower of London, and not anywhere near Bedfordshire. There were many documented Goodman families in that same parish and other nearby Middlesex parishes in the middle 1600s, any of which are much more likely to be the family of the Benjamin Goodman of St Katherine's who was ordered transported than any of the Bedfordshire families.

Re: http://www.goodmanhistory.com/my-ancestors/benjamin-goodman-...

Therefore, as I have posted many times now, until someone can and does provide specific documentary proofs that the Benjamin who was transported was in fact from Bedfordshire, and was not from one of the documented London / Middlesex Goodman families that lived in and around St Katherine's Parish, then the info you cited cannot be proven as fact and must now be discounted.

I am also still waiting for any Goodmans still living in England, and who are definitely from either the Bedfordshire or Middlesex Goodman lines, and whose families never left England, to participate in our Goodman Y-DNA project at FamilyTreeDNA.

where I have responded in detail to many of Donald Goodman's original assertions regarding Benjamin Goodman, and requested specific documentary references and sources, and none have been provided to date.
