Hello all!
I've recently started trying to trace back my family line and I seem to have run into a bit of a stumbling block.
For some odd (or perhaps, not so odd) reason, I've had little to no luck in finding the above named people. I am the Great Great Grandson of William Goodman, born approximently 1862 in Monroe County Michigan to John Caspar Goodman (Gutmann?) and Anna Katharine (Katharina, Catherine, Catharina) Feh. His siblings were Fredrick (abt 1852) Elizabeth (abt 1855) John (abt 1856) Catherine (abt 1960) and Amelia (abt 1867). William had two children, Francis and William. Francis is my Great Grandfather, and was born in 1902 and died in 1994.
My research shows that William married an Ellen (Ella?) Bollin (Boland, Bolin, Bolen, Bolden) in 1933 in Colon, Nebraska. Ellen was born in Onterio Canada in 1869.
Now comes the problematic part. I can find no record, short of census records for the time, that can tie William and Ellen together. Even the census records change their identity every 10 years.
My Great Grandfather knew the story, having been there first hand, but he went to his grave refusing to talk. So here I am, hat in hand per se, asking for help from Goodmans around the world. We would like to be able to patch this part in our family tree, and not just have to shrug our shoulders when future generations ask about the past.

Thank you in advance!
