Good Family from County Cork, Ireland

Surnames: Good, Sweeney
I'm researching Mary Good, her three sons (John, James and Richard) and granddaughter Anna Sweeney, who came to American in 1849 to escape the potato famine and yellow fever epidemic. I believe that they were from the Bandon area, but there are just too many Good's in the area.

I'm planning a trip to Ireland this next year. I want to find out more about my Good family tree. Any suggestions on where to start?
Thanks, Deanna (5th great granddaughter of Mary Good)

Hi John,
In early August, I did have the pleasure of visiting Bandon and Timoleague, and the great pleasure of meeting Margaret Bateman. She did give me some information regarding the Good's, but they were during the period after my Good's had left. I'm hoping that, utilizing this new information will help me trace back to a connection to my Goods. My Good's were from the Barry's Hall area near Timoleague. It has been quite a struggle doing this research. There are just so many Goods with common first names.
