TO ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN 'GOOBY'
Hi to you all, I am one of the few researching the Gooby family here in the UK. (My mothers maiden name). It seems the name is of more interest on the states side of the water!
As you all prob know, the name seems to originate from a small part of Cambridgeshire, UK. With links into surrounding counties like Suffolk, Norfolk, etc.
I live in Norfolk myself, but all the Gooby names that i know of, aunts/uncles/cousins etc are living in East London or Essex.
If anyone needs any help with research in the UK, i will be glad to offer my assistance.

Re: TO ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN 'GOOBY'
Hello I am interested in my Gooby family history. I am fairly new to this and have inherited some information from my father and am now trying to piece it together and fill in some gaps. Here is an abbreviated version of my direct ancestors
John GOOBY Born 1815 Sutton, Isle of Ely Married Died 1875 Hambledon Berks Fredrick Augustus GOOBY Born 1849, Gravesend Married 1871 Died 1922 Ballarat, Australia Harry Brown GOOBY Born 1876, Islington Married 1913 Died 1954 Heidelberg, Australia
I have some biographical information on John and some information on some of his children, with full information on FA and his children and subsequent descendants and would be most interested to know if you can help with further info..

Re: TO ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN 'GOOBY'
Oh, yes please!
I have a Matthew Gooby/Goobey who married Elizabeth PALGET. Matthews parents, are listed as: John Goobey and Rebecca ROWEL.
According to the 1851 England census, John Goobey was born in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England. He was an Agricultural Laborer. The census info is:
Address: River Bank, Tunstead Census Place: Hilgay, Tunstead, Norfolk PRO Reference: HO/107/1830 Folio: 467 Page 12 FHL Film 0207485
The children are listed as well, if I'm not mistaken.
IF you have the time and inclination, I would be grateful for your assistance with any further information, such as John Goobey and Rebecca ROWEL's parents, birthplace, etc.
Thank you for your offer of assistance. I have been genealogically dormant for a while, hence the delay in requesting.
