Demise of William Gombert, a Well Known Young Man
A sad event occurred in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gombert on Christiana street in the death of their son William, at 10.15 o'clock last night. The deceased was one of the popular and promising young men of the Twin Cities and worked in the coal office belonging to his father. He is reported to have been enjoying excelient health up to within three weeks of his death, when he was taken sick with typhoid fever. The best medical assistance was summoned but the young man grew rapidly worse and last Sunday he was reported to be suffering with a hemmorhage which finally resulted in heart trouble, the came of his death. The deceased was a most devout Christian young man and a member of St. Matthew's Church at the corner of Paynes Avenue and Wheatfield street. He was born in Tonawanda in 1873. He received most of his education in the schools of North Tonawanda and his death will be mourned by the many young men and women who were personally acquainted with him. The funeral will be held at the church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock.
