Is this Steven Warner Goman? Are you the son of James and Barbara Goman? If so, it's me. I think our great grandfather was Ellis Goman, possibly son of Eugene Goman. I've been digging through records and believe they were born in Vernon County Wisconsin and their parents came down from Canada. They are listed in the Wisconsin census going back to about 1880. I'll keep trying to dig up more info.

Here's more Goman information. Abraham (our ggg grandfather) and Sophia Goman, natives of a town near Montreal Canada moved to NY (somewhere) in 1844 and then to WI in 1847. In 1959 they moved to Sauk County WI. Abraham and Sophia were Roman Catholic. They had many children, including John, Eugene (our g g grandfather), Thomas, Nelson, William, James, Maggie, Amelia and Joseph. Eugene married Sarah in 1863 in Juneau County Wiscosin. They had Jane, Myrtia, Hattie, Ellis *iyr g grandfather, Charles and others. Ellis was in the civil war.

Here's what I have been able to determine. My father was James Kenneth Goman, my grandfather was Warner Eugene Goman, my gg grandfather was Ellis Goman, my ggg grandfather was Eugene Goman and my gggg grandfather was Abraham Goman. I remember when I was a little kid, my grandparents drove to Montana to visit relatives. Do you live near Yellowstone? I believe that's where they went. My husband and I went out to Yellowstone 2 years ago, but did not try to look up family. I wish we had. Please stay in touch.
