I am looking for the identity of my great-grandfather's biological father.

My grandfather's name was Carl Clyde Goin (born 1895 in OK). His mother was Anna Belle Goin Young. Carl was listed as Mr. Young's step-son on the 1920 Census. Carl notes that his father was born in the "United States."

Anna Belle would've been about 18 yoa at the time of Carl's birth, but I can find no reference to his dad's name or age anywhere.

Thanks.

Hi Jerrod,

Anna Belle Goin Young is my grandmother. My understanding is that Carl Goin was born out-of-wedlock and his father was never discussed in my presence. If Carl Goin has any male descendants, perhaps a Y-chromosome test would indicate the surname of Carl's father.

Jerrod,

For the Y-Chromosome to be meaningful, the male descendant undergoing testing must be a son of Carl Goin or a son of Carl's son, etc. If Carl Goin did not have any sons, then the Y-Chromosome cannot be performed.
