His father is Augustus Frederick Gohl born in 1790 in Germany. Married Catherine Taylor born in 1799 in 1813. Arrived in America from Germany 1817. Died in Michigan December 28, 1845. Would appreciate any info about Gohls from Germany.

Does Frederick have a sister? My great great grandmother - Pauline (Polly)
Gohl was born in Wurttemberger Hof, Baden Wurttemberg, Germany and her parents are Augustus Gohl and Catherine Taylor. She married George
Martin in 1843 and lived in Grosse Pointe, Michigan till her death in 1903.
Both her in George are buried in Grosse Pointe.

Hi, We don't know if Pauline is his sister. All we know is that Frederick's parents are Augustus Frederick Gohl and Catherine. I can't find any brothers or sisters for him. Also, I don't know what happened to Augustus Frederick Gohl or where he is buried. Any ideas? Supposedly, Augustus F. and his son Frederick (both born in Germany) were in Ontario, Canada. Frederick raised a family there and then moved to the Hillman/Alpena, Michigan area. We don't know what happened to his father or mother. He could have moved further with the rest of his family (if there is one). Pauline could be his sister, but he is not mentioned anywhere in her family. I need to find a connection. Any ideas?

Could they have left Frederick in Ontario and traveled south to Wayne County, Michigan with the rest of the family? Can't seem to find a connection although age-wise he fits in to Polly's family.

Thanks for the information. I will keep looking and let you know. That gentleman in Germany was willing to pull records for a fee and it was not cheap nor did he specify if it was the charge per record. So I opted out of that...I have a nephew that is stationed in Germany and another nephew whose wife is from Germany so if I cannot find anything maybe I will have one of them see if they can go pull some records. I will keep digging and let you know if I find anything.
