You started with yourself and worked your way back?
I found in 1860 and 1870 an Abraham and Mary J. Murphy in Perry County, Indiana.
He was born in Indiana, but the transcription says Iowa. Ia used to be the abreviation for Indiana.
She is listed as being born in France.
My Goffinet's were so confusing, I contacted the Perry County Library.
http://www.tcpclibrary.org/The wonderful people there were able to send me a photocopy of the "Goffinet" information. I think I was only charged $7.00 for the photocopying and mailing. Was a wealth of information. Gave me names to find source records.
