Genlain-Goffinet (response 2)
I recently went to FamilySearch.org and found that Adolphus Francis Genlain (son of Louis Jos. Genlain) married Emily Louis (dau of Theresa Louis) in 1856 in Jefferson Co KY.
I have a family paper that seems to indicate that the mother of Adolph Genlain & Louisa Genlain Goffinet had the maiden name Verbicore.

Re: Goffinets in Perry County, Indiana
Jessica, nice to hear from you, I got most of my information from the Tell City/Perry County library. They have a lot on the Goffinets. My goal on my research was to bridge the gap between 1880 and 1900. I didn't actually research the Luxembourg connections but most of the present day Perry County Goffinets is from one family so I believe the information at Perry County is generally correct. Who is your great grandma?

Re: Goffinets in Perry County, Indiana
The John Baptist line is the only line that still has direct living descendants living in Perry County. John Baptist 's sister Jane Goffinet was married to her cousin Andrew Goffinet which is my line. They all came to Perry County together by way of New Orleans.
