Looking for contact with anyone interested in the GOFFIN or GOFFEN family in England. The name is seen in Norfolk, Suffolk and Devon. Descendants from families in those counties were also living in London and elsewhere in Middlesex in the 19th century.

My great grandfather was Eric Romeril Goffin. He was the son of Charles Goffin who was living in Balham, London Eng. in 1916. Charles was the son of Robert E. Goffin who was headmaster of Westminister Boy's School in London in the mid to late 1800's. Eric had one sister that I know of, Irene, and he and Irene emmigrated to Canada in the years just prior to the outbreak of WWI. Eric married Emma Roloson in 1916 just before leaving to serve on the Belgium front in WWI. Irene married Emma's brother, so siblings married siblings. Eric and Emma had one daughter, my grandmother Marguerite. Eric also had two half-sisters in England, Cora Goffin a famous actress of the British theatre in the 20's and 30's and Daisy who married a barrister. I never heard what Eric's mother's name was, but I think it could very well be Elvira Wilkie mentioned in your post. I think we have the same lines here. I knew my great grandpa well, he passed away when I was 17 at age 85. I have a picture of Charles, also Irene, Cora and Daisy. Would be very interested to find out any information you might have regarding this line.

I was just looking up info about my fathers twin brother Robert Eric Roloson, who was killed in the Second World War in Italy December 5/44. He was one of three sons and 4 sisters. My grand mother was Irene(Goffin) married to William Roloson. Uncle Eric and aunt Emma(Roloson) lived in Delhi Ontario Canada. They are buried in the Langton cemetery. William and Irene are buried in the Norwich cemetery. I'm thinking that my grandmother had some say into Robert's name sake, after reading your info. Thank you very much, I really was very excited to find this info

I am also a descendent in this Goffin family in the UK. As well as his sister Irene, Eric had four brothers and one half-sister Cora, the famous actress, who was the only child of Charles' second marriage. Daisy was, in fact, Eric's aunt though nearly 20 years younger than him.
