My grandfather's name was spelled GODLES but my uncle thinks it was either Gadales or Godales meaning in Hebrew big one (of importance) he migrated to this country in 1905 from the Ukraine. We are not related to the other Godles' on ancestry.com

I am so excited that someone responded! Where do you live? As far as I know, anyone with Godales as a last is in some way related to one another. I was once told that the name could be from Greece. However, I am not sure.

NILDA: I DON'T RECALL IF YOU EVER RESPONDED TO MY RESPONSE TO YOUR E-MAIL FOR GODALES. I TOLD YOU THAT MY GRANDFATHER'S NAME WAS GODLES & MOST LIKELY GODALES OR GADALES FROM THE UKARAINE. I LIVE ON L.I., N.Y. & YOU?

I did receive your email and I also replied. As I replied to Victor Godales, my grandparents from my fathers side are from Cuba. After that, I cannot seem to find out where the name originated.

Nilda. I believe we are related, since you live in Miami. All my family from my father's(Jose Miguel Godales)side is of Cuban origins. I needed to do a family backround check for a school project, which is now done. Thank You. Reply plz.
