Daniel Leo Goche, 65, of Scott Township, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Fort Sill, Okla., the son of Leo and Anna Belle Goche. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Ann Elizabeth Goche, the love of his life; devoted father of Matthew Robert Goche and his wife, Courtney, of Fairfax, Va., and Brian Daniel Goche, also of Fairfax; proud grandfather of the beautiful Brynn Pamela Goche; brother of Patricia A. (James) Newell, of Black River, N.Y., Margaret (Tom) Pogatchnick, of Monticello, Minn., and Theresa M. Goche, of St. Cloud, Minn.; brother-in-law of Robert P. (Rosemary) Meadows, of Rochester, N.Y., Denis J. (Ellen) Meadows, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mark F. (Ellen) Meadows, of Shaler, and Richard J. (Cyndi) Meadows, of West Chester; also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Daniel was a graduate of Fordham University in 1969. In 1970, Daniel was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Army. He served a tour of duty as a forward observer and also as a fire direction officer with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in the central highlands of Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. In 1974, Daniel was awarded a master's degree in accounting from Utah State University. In 1979, he became a certified public accountant in the state of Pennsylvania. Daniel audited multiple types of contracts as an auditor for the Defense Audit Agency for more than 30 years. Daniel's favorite pastimes were traveling, fishing, gardening, story-telling, following the stock market and attending sporting events. He was president of Chartiers Valley High School Soccer Association and Basketball Association. He was also referee coordinator for the Chartiers Valley Soccer Association. Friends will be welcomed from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. I
