Here is all I have.
My grandmother emigrated to the US around the 1920s. Her name was Aniela "Nellie" Gocek, b. 1895. She married Elias "EJ" Fall in Syracuse and later moved to Clayton, WI. She was sponsored to come to the US by 2 uncles, names unknown. Her father was John Gocek, from Poland, and her stepmother was Mary (last unknown). I am not sure about whether she was really an evil stepmother, the real problem was my grandmother became head of the kitchen at 11 years old, which is too young. The only evil thing I know about is that Mary died early. ... so John was twice widowed, and Mary Gocek (his wife) died about 1906 (in Poland). My grandmother had a step sister Anna, who married a Karpenko in the US, probably Syracuse. I can provide more Karpenko info if requested. She also had a step brother John. We are not sure if he had any family, or emigrated. She also had a brother Frank, who we know never had a family and never came to the US. She also had a brother Stanley, who stayed in Poland. He had at least 4 children, Elizabeth [Ian] Kuzio (living with children), Sophie, and 2 other brothers (deceased).
If you might have any idea who the Uncle who sponsored her, please let me know, they would have been from Pennsylvania, or New York, most likely. Thanks
