My mother Barbara's maiden name was Gocek. Her parents were John and Pearl (Praxeda) Gocek. They were lifelong Chicago residents, and were both born in 1909. I know the name isn't that common so, we may be related.

By birth I am not a Gocek, however my step father is, and I would have to agree that the Gocek line is tiny. My step father Micheal Francis Gocek was born in Chicago, has 2 sisters (one in Green Bay, WI and the other in Chicago). His parents live in Green Bay now, although I do know they lived in Chicago for years, then moved to Pheonix Arizona for about 10 years.
I found this by accident while searching for my birth father's side of the family.
See ya

I'm also a Gocek! My family is from Poland, as far as I've been told, they are exclusively from Poland.

My grandmother Ceylia (or Cecylia) Gocek had a brother Jan Gocek and 5 other siblings. Parents were Andrzey Gocek and Maryanna Kolat. Originated in Lopuszna, Poland. Any connections?

My grandmother was Aniela "Nellie" Gocek. She emigrated to the US in the 1920's from Poland. I believe she came from a village in Poland, called Sanok, or Leskow. She had an evil stepmother and she decided to leave Poland and be with my grandfather, Elias Fall. There are some Goceks living in this country, I believe in Pennsylvania, that are related for sure.

Hi There,
My name is John Gocek, and I grew up in Monroe, NY. My dad's name is also John, and his father was Vladislaw Gocek from Warsaw. He and my grandmother (Irina) came from Poland in 1916 by ship. He was a coal miner in Pennsylvania for a while after landing at Ellis Island. My dad (now 84) had one brother who passed away, and I have a cousin near Little Falls, NY, but that's all I know. It would be nice to find other direct family.
